SUPPORTING THE BEDA
From the Rector, Monsignor Roderick Strange
I want to contact all those who have the best interests of the Beda at heart.
Last year in The Beda Review , my predecessor as rector, Monsignor Brian Dazeley, announced an Appeal to raise £1,000,000 by 2010, which will be the fiftieth anniversary of the Beda's presence in the Viale di San Paolo. Its purpose, given the fallibility of the stock market in recent years from which the College also has suffered, is to rebuild our trust fund for future generations. In that way we can help the Beda continue to provide priests for the Church. To reach our target in time, Monsignor Dazeley spoke of 600 people giving £250 or its equivalent in different currencies, especially US dollars or euros, each year for the next seven years.
Some generous donations have already been received and the fund is beginning to grow, but slowly. At present, we have received £3,360.70.
Some of you, I know, are anxious to contribute, but unsure of the best way. With the Beda family spread far and wide, it seems best to be simple. Write a cheque.
Cheques should be made out to:
Pontifical Beda College, no.2 account 22003952
If you wish for an acknowledgment, they can be sent here to our bursar,
Mrs Susan Marsili,
Pontifical Beda College,
Viale di San Paolo 18,
00146 Roma, Italy.
Alternatively , you can send the cheque directly to the bank:
The Royal Bank of Scotland,Charing Cross,
Corporate Service Team,
PO Box 39952,
2 ½ Devonshire Square,
London EC2M 4XJ.
If you prefer to pay by Standing Order , make arrangements with the same Royal Bank of Scotland address above. The only extra item you will need is our sort code:
15-10-00.
We all receive many requests for money. But we all know how important the Beda is and, therefore, that this is a worthy cause.
Thank you for anything you can do to help us.
